11/19/2008 -
New Orleans, LA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - John Salmons led five Kings in double
figures with 29 points and six assists in Sacramento's 105-96 victory over the
New Orleans Hornets.
Salmons hit a solid 13-of-18 from the floor for the Kings, who snapped a
three-game skid. Donte Greene, in his first career start, notched 15 points,
and Beno Udrih chipped in 14 points and seven assists in the impressive
victory.
"We believe that we are in a rebuilding situation, but at the same time we
want to be competitive," Kings head coach Reggie Theus said. "We want to win
as many games as possible, but at the same time we want to develop our young
guys. They've been coming through with flying colors."
Brad Miller added 14 points and eight boards for Sacramento, while Bobby
Jackson came off the bench scored all eight of his points in the critical
fourth quarter.
Chris Paul, nursing a balky ankle, logged 20 points and 15 assists, while
David West scored 22 points for New Orleans, which has lost three of four.
Tyson Chandler posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in
defeat.
"This is a bad loss for us," West said. "We definitely have taken steps back
as a team. We're going to have to come together and make a push because right
now teams are just walking over us."
The Kings went scoreless for the first four minutes of the fourth quarter and
trailed 84-77. Spencer Hawes, who finished with nine points, hit a layup to
jump-start a 10-0 run for Sacramento.
West hit two field goals to regain the lead, but Jackson nailed a three-
pointer to put the Kings ahead for good
"I don't mind taking the big shots," said Jackson, who played 102 games in
parts of two seasons with the Hornets. "I like that pressure. If you give me
the ball everybody knows I'm going to shoot it. You either make it or miss it.
I don't care if I make it or miss it."
Holding a 96-91 lead with 3 1/2 to play, Jackson hit a triple in the corner,
and Miller's jumper with just over a minute left made it a seven-point game,
as the Kings made their free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
The first three quarters were back-and-forth affairs. New Orleans took a 29-23
edge after 12 minutes of play and led 54-51 at the break.
An 8-2 run to start the third helped the visitors take a slim 77-76 lead
heading to the final quarter.

both out with ankle injuries...The home team had won three straight in the
series and 12 of the last 13 meetings...Sacramento's Jason Thompson had 10

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch
Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.
Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.
"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
